Phelps to picket Falwell's funeral because Falwell was too inclusive

From Dan Savage's slog via my sister Andrea:
Rev. Fred “God Hates Fags” Phelps and the Westboro Baptist Church to picket… JERRY FALWELL’S FUNERAL!
From the Westboro Baptist Church site:
WBC will preach at the memorial service of the corpulent false prophet Jerry Falwell, who spent his entire life prophesying lies and false doctrines like "God loves everyone".
There is little doubt that Falwell split Hell wide open the instant he died.
FYI, parody sites I found via Wikipedia's Westboro Baptist Church entry:

This is bad!
This is bad for Phelp's side. I don't like this idea of Westboro Baptist Church.

I had a back and forth with Fred Phelps Jr over email 10+ years ago, regarding the internal logic of his doctorine. Logically, extrapolating from their teachings, a person could be a good Christian their whole life, attend the right church, do the right things and say the right prayers and God would hate them. He would hate them from the beginning of time to the end of eternity, and there would be nothing that person could do about it. Jr agreed with this assesment and reminded me that God hates logic.
I have a little bit of respect for these guys in that they face a theological problem dead-on. If God loves everybody, how could Hell possibly exist? He couldn't possibly love people so much that he sends them to fire and torment for all eternity. So he must hate some folks. And he's God, so we're not necessaily going to understand why. Furthermore, he's all-knowing and omnipresent (including temporaly), so not only does he hate some folks, he always has and always will. God apparently hates logic, but this is the only rational explanation for how there could be a hell.
Since Jesus speaks of hell periodically and it seems to be an idea central to the Christian doctorine, I'm willing to accept Phelp's claim that his beleifs represent the only true Christianity. It's certainly the most consistent.
