Be careful what you wish for

Some extraordinary women, such as Marie Curie, achieved success despite their society's biases against women, leading to a feminist saying attributed to Frances "Sissy" Farenthold: "We will have a achieved equality when mediocre women are as successful as mediocre men." Sarah Palin's presence on the Republican ticket proves that this day has been reached, but feminists aren't happy!

There's just no pleasing women.

Why is she mediocre? Because

Why is she mediocre? Because she isn't a clone of you? She doesn't "think" the way a woman is supposed to think? As I get older I find many so-called feminists to be close minded, hypocritical haters. After all the strides made by through years by women , I can honestly say that you all come off as 18 Karat bitches.

Will be forgottten

Inevitably in 10 years time it'll be 'Sarah who..?'

What's the future for women

I don't think Palin has the public support even if she did have the talent.

RE

"when mediocre women", that;s pretty mild still for Sarah Palin in my opinion.

Columnist Ellen Goodman has also written about the applicability of this "prophecy" to Palin.

Alternate version of quotation

In researching this post, I found this unsourced version in an online quotation dictionary: "I am working for the time when unqualified blacks, browns and women join the unqualified men in running our government", which also applies.
